I was lucky enough to avoid the long wait for a sought after boot. A member posted them for sale in the marketplace. With that being said the members measurements were very close to mine. Pictures (mine) cannot show the detail as needed to appreciate the work done by Gabbard on his boots. The boots continue to change and evolve in the daily journey of my life. They fit my needs both in style and workplace.

Gabbard is a professional at his craft and a down to earth person who cares deeply for the craft and about the person who he building the boots for.

The boot breaking continues daily but this pair was a breeze compared to many in the 40+ years that I have been wearing boots. The wax treatment has been slowly wearing and fading away to reveal a shaggy brown tone underneath. Low maintenance with some brushing and a damp cloth. Hardly any visible damage or wear on this pair except for areas where the wax has worn away. Love the changes evolving on this pair.

I am completely satisfied with the pair of Nail Shanks. To say that I am satisfied with the NS probably does not do justice with the quality and or beauty of this pair and or the maker. I have had an opportunity to speak with Gabbard at length about this pair as well as a couple of other pairs that are not in the queue. He’s the real deal…. Hard to find in this day and age…. Genuinely cares about the journey for the person he is crafting the boots for.
