Break in was a little tough with sizing on my first pair of engineers. Probably about a month or so. They fit like slippers now which is real nice. Not much as far as care goes? I would brush them with a horsehair brush once in a while, I do keep shoe trees in them every night. I enjoyed the smoothness of the interior and how the brown showed up on the boot from where the strap lays. Also the crocking on these boots is something else

Wish the tow box was a little longer and the instep was a little higher. Wearability is very high but probably wouldn’t buy an hnw last again. Just prefer a higher and longer boot. Very comfortable now but took some getting used to.

I wore these all through cherry and apple harvest, working long hot days in the field. They were worn in the fabrication shop welding, the wood shop sawing, and working on the motorcycle in the garage. I brushed them almost every night, wore them to BBQs, fancy restaurants, two weddings, and to the gym. I also brought these to New York for a produce show, Iceland for an adventure, and Italy for a week of feasting and walking 50k steps a day (ouch). I cleaned them in the hotel sink every time I was on vacation and needed to take Dome photos abroad.
Every day means every day. At around 90 days in It's no longer a decision what to wear, it's just footwear. It's like they're a part of you. At 120 days in they're fully broken In and they don't hurt after a long day standing the whole time. At 6 months they're like tennis shoes - very supportive and thick, badass tennis shoes... Wait, no - tennis shoes are stupid. They are just the best footwear money can buy and there's no going back to lousy footwear... Ever...."Read the full review

The first day of wear included their first of several multi-hour hour airplane rides - they even made it unscathed on foot through the precheck security screening. I wore them to business casual meetings. I walked about 4 city miles every day and they loved pavement pounding. I pulled my kiddo through many museums in them. They were great in the rain and decent in the snow - though different soles would be better on ice. They were perfect hiking in the woods. They scrambled well on rocks. They were surprisingly good boots for snowshoeing. I had better than expected ball control kicking around a soccer ball in them.
There were very few occasions where I did not want to wear them. Once on foot, these chonky boys were wonderful. These boots were made for walkin, and that's just what they did...."Read the full review
