I've used these boots as my main work pair for the last 6th months. I'm a glazier and primarily work with leaded church windows, custom aluminum window frames, and custom aluminum doors. These boots have been all over the northeastern US. I really like wearing these boots, especially when erecting scaffolding. The logger heal really helps out.
This leather broke in super easy. If I remember correctly, the boots felt fairly broken in after the first week. I wore them a lot, and besides the wear on the soft honey vibram, everything is holding up really well. I brushed these boots after every wear and put them on a dryer. I put a thin coat of wax on the heel to try to maintain the natural color. The leather aged real nice and reminded me of my predator orange boots.
The 55 last, for me, offers a perfect sized toe box. The arch support is the best part.
These boots look nice and also function really well. I was really impressed with the finishing quality. It's almost hard to get over the initial hesitation of wearing boots this nice. I really appreciate the skill that goes into constructing handmade boots.
The v100 honey lug is softer and offers more grip than the regular v100. The only downside is that it wears faster.
Nicks boots make some of the best boots out there. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a well-made and durable boot.
