Half down from brannock and up a width. The instep was painfully tight on the 9.5D I originally ordered. My brannock is a 9.5E HTB and 9 HTT.

FOMO, and I wanted them for the Dome
Was told to order my “normal Parkhurst size.” By Nick’s but it wasn’t even close. If you know your Nicks size, just order in that.
Email Nicks about sizing advice, placed an order. Waited 6-ish months and then exercised the one time size exchange. I was soooo thankful for that, my sizing estimate was just way off. Got the replacement pair about 4-5 months later and they fit perfectly.
I work in an office, which is where these were with me everyday. I also used them for choring around the house. Whether it’s pulling attic fans out of old houses, or braving a winter storm to cut frozen trees away from the house. These were on my feet. I brush them up for the office on Monday, but otherwise, they do everything. They’ll be with me on a multi-day hike at the Grand Canyon next week. They’re great, they do exactly what they’re built to do. Nothing more nothing less.
Cypress 8 is a great, little to no maintenance leather. It’s pretty heavy on the waxes, so if you wanted, you could do nothing and it would hold up just fine fine. It does mark very easily, but a quick rub of your finger, and it “heals” itself. The top grain has a tighter structure, so it has a unique wrinkling effect to it, which is pretty cool. You can see this in the toes and backstay in my photos. The purple color faded a little over the last six months, so it’s not as vibrant, but otherwise it’s a really solid leather.
I’m a 9.5E brannock. I wear a 9EE in the Parkhurst last, the HNW, and the 1925 last. I used the size exchange. I was originally instructed to wear my same Parkhurst size, which is a 9.5. I had 2+ inches of toe room and it was painfully tight across the instep. I have a wider foot with short toes and a moderate instep. I feel that the toe box is kind of long and the instep is low, which could cause some problems with sizing. It does have a four ply heel, which pushes your foot up slightly and into the instep area, I believe this is why I had problems with the 9.5. It is a very sturdy boot and is less forgiving than something made with Chromexcel, getting sizing right is critical with the Nicks build I’m a 9 in the 602M and a 9.5 in the 618 as well.
Flawless, absolutely zero issues and problems with the build quality.
The Vibram heel is hard wearing, I spend most of my time on concrete and it’s held up. After six months, it’s time for a heal replacement. Grip feels fine and it’s performed well over the last six months.

I’m extremely happy with the build quality, no issues in sight, and I have a feeling it will be a while before anything gives up. The Parkhurst last is interesting, tighter heel and waist than the HNW, which in my opinion is a work last. I think the slightly higher heel height compounds the instep tightness. And really just an overall more solidly built boot means it’s less forgiving than something offered by Parkhurst. Get your size dialed and you will be good to go.
