Nicks Handmade Boots
I was inspired by the lack of options i had. I had already purchased 5 other pairs of nicks and other PNW boots. The only boot i was missing was a engineer boot and a tanker boot.
I chose the same size as my previous nicks. 10d. After wearing them for months i learned that CXL leather streches more than stiff work leathers. If i were to buy other CXL boot i would get a 10C
The experiece was great. It did take longer than usual but Im aware handmade boots take longer to make.
I wore these boots to work. Im in the construction industry. I work in new house construction in Texas. I work on the exterior of houses so im always on rough uneven terrain and lots of trash and materials. The texas weather is very drastic. It can be hot, cold, rainy snowing in the same month. They were part of my tools because they offer protection and arch support. I loved that i could just slip them on and off in seconds. I loved the 55 heel. It really helps on the uneven terrains. It just dug into the ground when i was going downhill.
In my experience it did strech out a lot. It also feels hotter than other leather. Breaths less than work leathers. It does look beautiful with wear. I dont feel like i can wear it in texas summers.
Feels great. The 55 last was my first experience with handmade boots and still love it. Before i use to have terrible back problems. Since wearing nicks i have not had back problems in 4-5 years.
The boots are great. The only issues i had were on my part. Not on nicks.
The honey lug feels great. Betwwen the black and the honey i dont feel much difference. For me both last about the same.
Im just happy to be able to participate in the dome. Before the dome it was someting i would do everyday. I would look at my boots and the end of the day and admire all the change. Now the thunderdome is the same thing but i can share it with others. And admire other boots.
