Durability

This leather has been amazing and I wasn't expecting this beautiful leather to be so durable. It has held up to all the hell I put them through at work. Kicking rocks on accident, hitting metal sleeves and being submerged in muck and water. Instead of this leather breaking down it becomes more beautiful.

Satisfied with the Fit

The fit has been great. Luckily I took recommendations on the sizing. I'm normally 9.5 D on all my Nick's boots. These I went with 9D and it was a great decision. Mainly because there is still some heel slip and I can't imagine how bad it would be if I went with my normal size.

They have been great...I was surprised they did so well at my job. I usually use the V100s but these were fine

I love Quabaug heels. They hold up well

Final thoughts

Would Recommend

These boots are now my favorite boot in my collection. They have aged beautifully and the convenience up a pull up boot is amazing. Nick's did such a great job with these...I wish I had one more month with these because I had to enter late. The leather is durable, beautiful and cleans up so damn nice. The fit is great and minimal heel slip. I feel like Darth Vader when I wear these boots lol.

Nicks StationMaster in Wickett & Craig Double Stuffed Navy
By BamaBoyinTx • April 5, 2025"I had a tough time decidung which boots to use for the Thunderdome. I started on the Stitchdown website and was amazed at the drastic changes that some of the previous contestants achieved in just a few short months. To be honest, I really wasn’t certain that I’d be able to develop that kind of patina, as I couldn’t see myself wearing the same pair of boots everyday. As a recovering sneakerhead, I’ve always been the guy who had dozens of pairs of shoes that I constantly rotated. So the idea of wearing the same “uncomfortable” pair of heavy boots everyday was completely foreign to me. However, once the contest started, my competitive side kicked in and I committed to the process. I broke my boots in on the weekend of Bootcamp. I walked over 25 miles in my boots that weekend. Since then, my boots have been to 5 National Parks. I used them hiking in the Santa Monica mountains. I took the. on a weekend through to Chicago. I’ve worn them to church, I’ve taken them camping and to lots of cocktail bars. While intially they weren’t easy to put on, overtime they became my go to boots for every adventure. Through this competition, I really gained a new appreciate for boots. These are the first boots that I really loved to wear. It turns out that ny Nicks are a LOT more comfortable than the cheaper boots that I had owned in the past. I also discovered that life was a lot easier when I knew exactly what I was going to wear each day. I also was shocked to find these boots seemed to ease a the hip pain that had plagued me over the past few years. Over the course of the last 6 months, my boots have taught me that life is a lot sweeter when you commit to owning fewer but better things. Don’t get me wrong, I am not even close to being a minimalist, but I have learned that I don’t need or want a closet full of shoes. Instead, I’d much prefer to own a few amazing pairs of boots that are built to last and only get better with time. My boots have gotten better with each wear and I love them more and more all the time. My boots have changed a lot. the experience of using them has also changed my perspective. I’ve learned to better appreciate the things I have. When my heels started wearing down, I simply upgraded them. When my boots got dirty, I brushed them, shined them, and restained the edges. While lesser boots might have fallen apart by now, these boots seem to just be getting started. If I had to summarize how my perspective has shifted, it would be with this: Life is short, buy the boots, wear the things you love, and always remember what’s important…it’s not things you own, its not collecting a bunch of things, it’s family, it’s being present in the small moments and truly being thankful for the gifts that life has given us...."Read the full review
