Nicks Handmade Boots
Wellington 365
I didn’t wear these as much as I’d have liked since I was usually in the main dome boots. They were great to just pull on and run out for a coffee or walk the dog. They got some wear traveling since laces are annoying at security.
What can I say? This leather is amazing. The pull up, the rolls, the glossy finish. It all works so well. Horween outdid themselves here. I think I conditioned about every 90 days through the dome and it just got better and better. I wish there was a way to bottle the way this leather smells. It’s outstanding.
The fit was ok. It was incredibly tight over the instep and a little loose around the heel making it secure but a bear to break in. Honestly they’re still not quite there. The Wellingtons are 6.5c and I have a pair of Gamebreakers in 6.5d. Comparatively the Wellingtons feel a half size shorter. There isn’t much arch support and not really enough space for an insert. I was hoping for something a little easier to step into but I’m still really happy with them.
10/10. Nicks does great work.
They’re pretty durable for a wedge and look nice. Love cushion of a wedge.
I really like these boots. I wish the heel were a bit tighter and there was more volume on the instep. My ideal use case would’ve been as an easy pair to throw on and kick around in. Being so tight over the instep made it feel like I actually had to put them on instead of being something to throw on and go. But the leather is amazing and they look incredible.
