These have mostly seen wear sitting in classrooms and teaching as a graduate student. I take them on a hike whatever chance I get, and I think longer drives, hills and stairs, and bending my feet under my chair have really contributed to the tilt at the shaft. The heel cup has accentuated over time and only gotten more comfortable :)
This leather is so tough, even deeper scratches seem to just brush out with time. The best part is the burnishing - it leaves a beautiful shiny finish with a gorgeous wood grain type look peeking under the surface. Care has mostly been regular brushing, with a light conditioning after the winter season.
I got this with the built in delta arch, which provides some but not much arch support. I also got this true to size, when I usually wear 602M half down (although I've recently found that a bit more comfortable true to size as well). The heel and waist is really nice and comfortable, but even after all this wear the end of a long day can have just a bit of pushing at the pinky toes. Other than the toebox, it's perfect, and even that is very minor.
It's very solid, everything I'd hoped for from a Nick's boot. Design is pretty standard. When I first got it, I was a bit more bothered since the clicking was noticeably different and on one of the boots the stitching went too close to the edge which doesn't look great and could potentially be a problem if I was kicking things a lot. For my purposes though, it's definitely good enough and now I just appreciate the leather for how it's aged uniquely.
Sole was great at first and it looks really sick, but it smooths out pretty quick and I found myself slipping on some icier days. It's also a comfortable compound overall and seems pretty durable. I think I can overlook the traction since the half sole look is so cool.
Same thoughts on the heel, pretty durable and I like the solid chunk of rubber.
This is an awesome pair of boots. It's not perfect, but I wasn't chasing perfection. I just love what I have and wear these as much as I could. The leather is my favorite and definitely the star of the show, the boots are comfortable enough, they're more durable than most people would ever imagine, I wouldn't do it with any different pair.
