I love the various iterations of Horween"s waxed flesh & didn't own any true green boots. These were the closest analog in the rotation still eligible.
Andrew graciously gave me ample direct guidance of the fit of the original 602 last, for my first ever nice pair of boots. Adjustment to the fit of 618 was easy from Parkhurst's public guidance.
Absolutely seamless. Email notification of a sale promo. In the seconds & samples sale, saw this deep olive waxed roughout makeup for under $300. Impossible to resist, they arrived that week. Been hell, hearing them call my name since. 100% satisfaction (only exception: they are not taller)
Demo`d a second floor kitchen in a 300 year old house, rebuilt it into a bedroom complete with old growth flooring. Then a Lenape wedding with a smoke cleansing ceremony. They carried me all through Merida, Mexico City, Tulum, Uxmal & Chichen Itza. The right boot drank Mundo Maya Jaguar stout, the left bathed in fermented cacao with a generous pasilla component that was hotter than Satan's tit (why I dropped it in the 1st place).
Break in has been incredibly smooth, couldn't be simpler to live with. Completely frictionless experience so far.
The fit is the best so far of Parkhurst's lasts. Toe box isn't roomiest but more than enough wiggly for me. Great lock in from the heel counter.
Except for one spot where midsole has come undone from the welt and beautiful but bent metal speed hooks, construction and finishing are flawless. The stiitching is clean and regular. All in all, the boot is so good I only wish there were a taller version.
Traction and durability are decent, given the thin lugs. Comfort wise, I eould have appreciated it thicker but that's what the resole is for. Soft enough for effective grip
Solid with good lug depth and surprising durability.
Have been a fan of Andrew and his work for some time. This is my favorite pair so far. An outstanding hard-wearing leather that was intentionally designed to be easy to live with and care for in a versatile last. If it were taller, it would be a forever boot, no doubt.
