Of the dozen or more pairs I have worn over the last decade, this is my favorite pair of Limmers.

This is the boot I put on at 6am and take off at 6pm. From all day in the boot shop to hauling wood to shoveling snow to wadding in rivers to stomping around Brooklyn these boots have done it all.

Follow to my previous remarks, these are my favorite boots; largely because of the Seidel raindance. They broke in smoothly over a few weeks and have maintained the appropriate level of stiffness and support. The 8+ oz. Leather required very little conditioning, about once a month I scrubbed them with a soft brass bristle brush and applied a light application of Limmer Grease (what else would I use). To all the patina dawgs out there looking for a fast aging boot, these are not for you. The leather sole shows far for wear and patina than the upper, but I know with resole this pair of boots will last for many years of hard wear.

These feel dreamy, snug and supportive in all the right places, and roomy where it matters. My feet slip into position in the leather insoles and the heel counters wrap with snug comfort around my heels supports the arches. The Munson last holds my feet comfortably at the ball before opening into a roomy toe box.

The one piece upper is a timeless design and the construction is rugged enough to years of abuse. 8oz upper with 4/5 oz lining, the leather sole with Vibram 2332 is the weakest link, yet they don’t need resoling quite yet. While the finish is not meant for the catwalk, it has a charm in its rustic nature. Can we talk about the vintage brass hardware that I found buried in a dusty box at the shop? Bombproof and gorgeous.

It’s has done the job; protected the leather sole, provided some traction in snowy New Hampshire winter and has been light weight. However a Limmer really deserves a Vibram Montagna sole

The whole world should get on the backlog. But joking aside, i have enjoyed these boots, and will be hard pressed to build another pair I like more. They are not for everyone, but would recommend to anyone looking for a hard wearing pair of boots.
