These were super light beige/cream when new and darkened tons! Indigo crocking super quick onto these. Leather softened around pinky area / heel only a couple months in though but now after six months quite soft even for those those at first stiffer areas. When hot outside they are not the most breathable but probably same as any other roper, these were my first roper style boots

Satisfied with the Fit
These were quite comfortable out of the box but got a bit more uncomfortable towards the end of the 6 months Thunderdome. They fit me well with thick socks (no insole) or thin socks with a standard red wing insole works well too. Sized up vs my other Red Wings (full size up from Iron Ranger and .5 up from Moc Toes). Toe box softened nicely, so did the heel, which I feel would be nicer if it stayed a bit stiffer for longer.

Lots of life left in these. Super durable sole. Heels far from needing to be replaced. Probably years of wear left before these would need any resole or heel replacement.

I work 5 days a week, so the primary usage was for my job as a fleet manager. I spend most days at a desk, but when I needed to go on site or to the shop, I wasn’t worried about needed to swap out my shoes for something else. If nothing else, the sheer practicality of that was a win in my books.

The Vibram mini lug sole with no slip features was very helpful. I also moved vacuum pumps to my shop for maintenance. I spend a lot of time at my desk writing software, or working on electronic equipment that is malfunctioning. I went on a trip to Michigan where I was able to do some hiking in the snow and cold.
