I’ve used these boot for everything, I even wore them with a suit at the beginning. They’ve been used for work and play they’ve been drenched on many occasions too. They are a bit chilly in the cold. A leather midsole may have helped here. But they always remained comfortable.
These never really needed breaking in as such, but after 6 months they are beautifully soft. The toes went early on but the brown tea core never really revealed itself elsewhere until about 4 months, despite wearing them nearly all the Time. I used Bick 4 and a bit of polish at the end , and gave them a regular brushing. The leather is still in great condition.
These were the first “proper” boots I brought, and they were half a size to big, an extra inner sole helped though and they remained fairly comfortable. the heel and sole are quite stiff underfoot, but overall they were supportive
The design is a classic, I wish it had a leather midsole and the finishing was good for the price of the boot, but nowhere near as good as my Trickers.
I’ve had these for a few years, but because they were slightly big they didn’t get much wear until the Thunderdome. I’m glad I did get to wear them as the leather now looks fantastic, and is super soft and supple. I’m tempted to get a pair in the right size , and change the sole. This would then make a great long term boot, that would last many years.
