More about this item

A bit snug, but looking forward to seeing how they break in. Seem to have plenty of room in the toe box, so I'm hoping I don't end up with the clown shoe look

Why I own this

Ready To Wear

Have been wanting a pair of Iron Rangers since I saw them in a storefront years ago. Never bothered picking up a pair until I had a whim to try the thunderdome.

Was advised to size down a full size from my natural shoe size

The "tough" part of the name is no joke. It's a bear to break in for the first couple days, but it has shrugged off every bit of abuse

Satisfied with the Fit

I should've gone up a width to make the break in process a bit easier, but I've managed to end up with these feeling like a good firm handshake. It's a fit that I don't hate, but it might be too tight for some

Finishing

The finishing and consistency is unmatched here - it loses a bit of unique "handmade" character, but there's no doubt about receiving a quality product when you buy an Iron Ranger

Comfort

Very hard, unforgiving sole - but it's the most durable thing I've ever had on my feet. You can just barely see the wear beginning, and I haven't been nice to these boots.

Same as the sole. Hard as iron and twice as durable

Final thoughts

Would Recommend
Good Value

I came into this contest already having owned Frank's and White's, and I was simply curious as to whether the old faithful Iron Ranger could hold up to the same abuse that my PNW boots have. I probably wouldn't take these into a logging camp, but for the work I've put them through and the hell I've marched into while wearing them, the Iron Ranger has truly impressed me. What is worn by many as a casual fashion accessory still has the guts to go to work and throw down with some of the heaviest hitters on the market - and look damn good doing it.
