My Pecos have been my daily boot since October. They have been on walks in muddy conditions, everyday commutes in London, the rain and snow.
Break in took about 1 week of regular wear. They now fit like glove. The leather was a little dry straight from the store. I hit them with some bick 4 about a week into owning them. Since then they have held up amazingly well and haven’t needed conditioning. Care has involved a wipe down if muddy and a regular brushing. The leather has darkened slightly in spots when the leather has creased. There is some lovely contrast developing on the leather.
Very comfortable, very little heel slip despite what I read about before purchasing. Occasionally if standing on a slope there is a very slight pinching at the toe box. I am typically a UK 11/US 12. I sized down to a US 11.5. The pecos come in width E
Design is great and build quality is what I have come to expect from redwing. By no means the best on the market but priced very competitively and I can see they have been designed for long term durability. Stitching is very neat. Construction is solid.
A boot I would recommend if you are looking for a pull on boot that doesn’t have two much embelisbment. Very comfortable once broken in. The darker brown leather has begun to age very nicely.
