Rolling Dub Trio
Coupen Low Moc
Standard & Strange
Availability: Stock Model
I have the Caspers in 6. Standard and Strange’s advice is to go one down from Brannock. They’re a touch small, especially width-wise, so I took half down. I’ll likely take this size in the future.
Wore these comfortably around the city, on vacation, and to work.
Stiffer than calf leather and not as soft as Chromexcel, but it’s comfortable to wear. Surprisingly lightweight uppers compared to the heavier soles. Really exciting to see the brown showing through high wear areas.
I took this in a 6.5 after my experience with the Caspers in 6 (pinky toe crushers). The volume in the toe and arch feels better, but the heel has more room than I like. Keep in mind that I have comically tiny heels; most folks will fare better. I’ve worn these for 20k+ step days pretty happily. Nice shoes for walking through flat and hilly cities alike.
No two ways about it: these are sick. I got these to replace a pair of too small Paraboot Chambords, and these have even more attractive lines compared to the Chambords. I love moc toes in general, and I really like how the stitching of the moc toe flows into the stitching on the facings. The shoes feel designed to show off patina and wear and look cool the whole time. No loose threads, missed stitches, or unsightly welts. A chunky, super wearable, and handsome pair of shoes.
I wore through the toe taps even faster than I did with the Caspers. The cork soles are nice and soft but admittedly not my first choice for snowy or icy days.
I like these a lot. I don’t see myself as someone who wears a lot of black shoes, but I made room for these happily. They look great, wear comfortably, and are slowly revealing some teacore. Are they a bargain? No, but they’re a great package. I anticipate wearing these long into the future.
