These boots are workhorses, taking any and all challenges I threw their way with ease. I took these on several hikes up mountains and they were perfectly at home there, as they were on my feet at work, but were also great for just chucking on quickly to go out the house for some fun.
This leather is tough as to be expected with its history, but ages beautifully and quickly! I think my favorite part of how it ages is how nicely it burnishes, which is shown best I think on the back of these boots where my pants would rub against them.
The 40 last is very comfortable and roomy last. I’m very low volume but thankfully was able to fit these just fine, though my facings do touch pretty much the entire way up. But I’m very much locked in and secure in these.
These boots feel like no other pair I own due to the double vamp true moccasin construction that Russell Moccasin is known for. I am absolutely hooked on these, and would love to get more pairs. Russell has been around for a long time for a reason, they know what they are doing.
Very rugged sole yet still comfortable. These performed exceptionally well on my hikes, and there was definitely some instances on those where I really needed the fantastic traction these offered.
My friend Dave of New River Boots told me once I owned a pair of Russell Moccasins I’d catch the itch for more, and he was absolutely right. I’ve never experienced a boot quite like it, and I’m so happy to have these in my collection!
