Felt like wearing boat shoes this year and ultimately chose this pair for the crazy horse leather. I would have loved to support the smaller local shops such as rancourt, quoudyy etc however the only options I could find at the time were either chromexcel or Essex which I already have. Anyways, this heavy leather did not disappoint. After brief break in period patina developed rapidly and low maintenance with regular brushing. Thanks to everyone for paticipating and all the hard work to those who make the patina thunderdome happen! See you all next year.

I manage the facility maintenance at multiple dog kennels, and over the past six months, these boots have been on a journey. I've worn these boots while installing chainlink fence, building retaining walls, trenching, digging up old gravel for fence repairs, replacing failed sump pumps during flash flooding, replacing a well pump, water heater, troubleshooting electrical gremlins in our appliances, roof repairs, soffit and gutter repair, months of landscaping and cleanup, framing walls while renovating our kennels, concrete crack repairs, installing new drywall, waterproofing and sealing kennels, painting, light metal fabrication and welding jobs, fleet vehicle maintenance, and a host of other things. I wore these to do everything in my life, from light hiking to walking in extreme weathers of wet, hot, humid and dry (Australia, baby) and they held up fairly well.
Given that the stitching and midsole are waxed when received, these keep everything below the ankle fairly dry in rain and puddles.
Sand, dirt and small rocks stay out for the most part, and they wouldn't be able to get in at all had I gotten my right size.
