It's always a bit weird to send money to someone on Instagram. It goes against all the rules around safe internet usage. However, Tahura was super enthusiastic, well vetted by the stitchdown community, and super accommodating. It was a great experience and Tahura has been encouraging of the boots progress as the dome progressed. I will definitely consider them for future builds.

Office Work

I desk jockey and drive my kids around town. That's all the action I get.

Care Routine

This leather just got better and better everyday. I got caught in the rain and got them covered in mud a few times but after a quick cleaning they kept on shining. I'm so impressed with how the flesh side is so reflective on the toe. I totally didn't expect that outcome. The break in was also super easy. I had to get the tongue into the right orientation but after that all was good. Now these fit like a sock. I wore them nearly every day and they just feel like a part of me now. My feet are pretty standard and have been shocked with how well these have molded to my feet. Carewise, I followed the standard practice. Brush after every use and drop in some shoe trees. I was willing to beat this leather up but I wasn't willing to neglect them. I gave them a good cleaning with saddle soap after a muddy battle in the rain and hit the with some bick4 to keep the healthy. I've only had to do it once and they have been perfect ever since. The patina on the toe was pretty immediate and the reddish brown tones are special. The patina on the shaft has come much slower and gradually. I wore my pants over the shaft the whole time and they got much less exposure to the elements. They should continue to evolve.no

The clicking was the most clever part and I owe it all to Tahura they told me not to worry to much and they were confident I would love my pair. The stitchdown construction has been sturdy and again the boot just molded to my feet. They are my perfect pair. The lining made with domestic leather bled some dye onto my socks the first few wears but that didn't bother me at all. I lost a speed hook along the way and I killed like 4 pairs of laces both leather and cotton. The edge finishing has taken a beating but still looks great and all the stitching is still intact. I can also chew through my soles but these Dr Soles look almost untouched.

No complaints here. I usually chew through my soles and nothing like that happened this time. I expect these to last a long time before the next resole.

Good Value

I would highly recommend Tahura and guidi horsebutt for sure. This was my fist real pair of boots and I couldn't be happier. This was also the first time I ever really made an effort to photograph anything and I mainly walk away with things I won't do next time. For the price and quality I don't know that it's worth buying anything off the shelf at the store, with few exceptions.
