The aTricker’s Stow boots are my favored boots for nearly every task. The 4497S last feels tailor made for my slightly wider than average foot, with a normal heel. I use all my Stow boots interchangeably for hard use in the outdoors, travel, and office use. A good brushing and some light shining and wear the same boots with a business suit and matching belt. I have NEVER worn out a pair of Stow boots (or any other Tricker’s product) and I suspect that they will all outlast me!
I am absolutely stunned by the comfort and durability of the muflone leather. Needed no breaking in and has remained supple over the last two years of hard use. There isn’t any patina to speak of because the leather brushes clean and just doesn’t show any wear. It hasn’t really creased although few “rolls” have appeared on the vamp. It’s resistant to water although I have gotten them completely soaked while hiking through streams and they seem to take a little longer than smooth calf to dry out. I keep them brushed thoroughly after each use and will periodically throw a high shine on the toe cap. Can’t resist, it’s the soldier in me! I’ve used only Saphir products and selected their “Mahogany” crème as my color palate for this boot. It’s a rich color that receives more compliments than any other colorway I have on a Stow boot. Do NOT hesitate to get boots in muflone leather.
Being of Scottish decent m, the 4497S feels like a bespoke fit for my slightly wider than average ball, with a more narrow heel. The waist of the sole doesn’t have a ton of arch support, but my ground pounder feet don’t need it. Overall I can wear these boots for 18 hours a day and never feel stifled. I wear these with heavy wool socks and the shape of the upper allows me to use more moderate dress socks in a pinch. The Stow boot is the GOAT!
There is a reason these are considered the GOAT of the gentlemen’s country boot genre. The timeless design feels modern while giving a nod to a more sophisticated era. The construction of these boots is SUPERB. The stitching is exact and uniform, and maintains a perfect distance from every edge. The Goodyear welting stitches are FLAWLESS on every pair of Stow boots I have. Their shoe makers are top shelf professionals for sure. This is the pinnacle of boot makers, bar nine and at any price point. The Stow boot is both durable and comfortable. I’ve torture tested these boots year after year and they look better with every wear. The hardware is next level. Many people complain of eyelets gouging the tongue of their boots and all of my other brands do this, (although it doesn’t bother me one bit.) Tricker’s are built different. None of my Stow boots have gouging or wear on the tongue beneath the eyelets, NONE of them. The finest materials with the greatest of craftsmanship. There is a reason these boots have multiple Royal Warrants by the Kings and Queens of England.
My favorite sole for combination outdoor and office work. The one and done sole that can always get the job done. Wears long and provides great comfort. These are also a safety measure when walking on tile or polished marble floors. Leather soles are a slippery accident waiting to happen!
Perfect heel for the perfect sole. Provides great grip and exceptional comfort. My favorite for combination outdoor and office work.
The Stow boots are the finest boots you can buy and dollar for dollar are the best value when considering quality, materials, style, longevity, and cost per wear. My favorite pair of Stow boots are any pair I have in my feet at the time. I am impressed and have to admire the boots every time I wear them and it just never ceases to amaze me just how great these boots are. The BEST!
