Use & wear

I wore these pretty much everyday unless it was raining, snowing, or I was doing something that I didn’t want to do in these boots (ie: hiking, shoveling, etc) that I felt would detract from the overall aesthetic I was hoping for from these boots... I didn’t want to ‘force’ patina. However, these got me to walk more and extend my daily walks as I just really enjoyed wearing them. My average daily number of steps for the 6 months was 8,360.

Leather

Maryam Olive TPR Horsebutt

The leather has held up really well, developed nice rolls and has really molded to my feet. The break in was quick and these became comfortable for longer days after the first week of wear. I brushed these 3-4 days a week as I really liked the shine produced and conditioned using Saphir renovateur 4 times and used Saphir Crème 1925 twice.

Craftsmanship

Viberg Boondocker

I like the utilitarian build Division Road came up with for these and feel they’re just a nice pair of boots that go with most everything I own. Only thing I would change - and will be shortly - is the sole. I’ll be resoling with a Dr. Sole Supergrip full sole (maybe 1/2 sole… still debating). Tired of getting small rocks stuck in the commando sole, but do feel it fits the boot.

Sole & heel

Comfort
Durability

Meh - which is how I feel about the commando sole with every boot I’ve owned featuring it. It’s a fine sole and it fits the aesthetic of this boot, but not a fan of rocks getting stuck in the lugs. However, it is a comfortable, durable sole.

Final thoughts

Would Recommend

I really like these boots and have enjoyed wearing them. I would recommend.
