I had ACL repair in November. For awhile after the surgery, these boots sat at home. It was too painful to get these on. However, once January hit, these were on my feet several days a week. This meant they were worn in my office job, shoveling snow, traveling on vacation, even working out in them. Most notably, these became my primary shoes for once I started walking without a cane. I tried to walk 1-2 miles every night and these were on my feet through them all.
This leather is weird! It has great grain pattern over the heal. And the contrast between the smooth vamp, toe cap, back stay, with the tumbled leather on the shaft is unique. The patina on these is unique. The leather has certainly darkened a bit. But it's less dramatic than I expected. It has stayed an overall yellow-olive color. And for a long time most of the patina just looked like the boots were dirty. But, after a good brushing and some conditioning, this evened out. They have become one of the more unique boots in my collection.
The boots fit as expected. The last is and outsole combine to feel almost like a heavy duty sneaker.
All good! The brogueing on one toe cap is not punched all the way through. But everything else is perfect.
Comfy! Good enough grip for a MN winter. Casual look. I'm happy.
These boots are fantastic. The leather is one of the most unique leathers in my collection. And the light leather with the white outsole gives them a more sneaker-like look than most other boots. On top of it all, the patina looks amazing. I'm lookin forward to putting a lot more time in these.
