Viberg
Service Boot

Ever since Viberg changed their lasts and patterns, I have been on the hunt for old Viberg boots in my size. Luckily scouring the foreign market I was able to find these on a secondary market site. Worked well because they are built in a tough leather that can handle a patina contest like this one.
I used my brannock measurement, which is about a half size to full size bigger in heel to ball compared to heel to toe. I then sized half down to my Viberg size.
It was fairly complicated purchase as I had to use an overseas proxy to order my boots and ship them to me in the United States.
I have mostly used them for everyday living running errands and doing housework like gardening and other activities. Didn't work during this time so it was mostly while taking care of my newborn.
This leather is a tough tough son of a gun. I wore them fairly hard nothing too crazy like hikes or construction work. Just normal everyday activity. I didn't have any blisters to start since they are sized right and the sole has broken in lovely. However, they just started to get fuzzy at the end of the contest. Didn't require a lot of care, just a good brushing at the end of the day.
Love the fit of the 2045, wide toe box to allow for toe splay with a narrower heel. There wasn't any break in period with the uppers so I was good to go from the very beginning. Easy to wear all day because of my ball placement in the boot.
Old Viberg Service boots are iconic and this pair definitely showed that off. The construction was pretty spot on with fairly parallel stitchdown stitches. Hardware was starting to get the green patina because of how old they were, so I needed to scrap those out in the beginning.
The sole is definitely very durable and was pretty comfortable.
I would fully recommend these boots to someone who loves toe splay in their boots and not worried about a refined toe. I would highly recommend getting boots proxied from overseas if a pair is found to someone's liking
