These have been my companion for everything since the beginning of the thunderdome. From everything to office work, hikes, boyscout trips, and work around the house.
I expected these to show wear more than they have. The leather has been crazy resilient and just this month have started to show some of the rough out nap.
White's ability to customize and offer so many sizes are why I keep buying boots from them. As someone with shorter, wider feet with a high instep the EE width and 55 last works really well.
I worked with Ben (stitchdown Ben) to make a custom design on these that really showcase and epitomize what's Whites does best. These were originally set to be offered to others but overshadowed by the black western bootsl option ended up not coming to fruition. Either way these show the absolute awesome handwelting skills, sole and leather options, as well as robust stitching everywhere that you'd expect from a legendary PNW boot making factory.
The half-lug sole has held up extremely well. It has enough grip in all conditions outside of actual ice to be usable for everything. There is a little bit of cushion that I didn't expect out of it as well. The wear has been minimal and I expect to last for several more years. The ability to have the lug sole and stacked leather give the boots an excellent look.
For the first time through a thunderdome I'm extremely happy withy pair of boots. They are crazy comfortable and it feels weird to now put on a different pair of boots. Anyone on the fence for a pair of Whites needs to make the jump and get a pair.
