Why did you choose this item?
I really like the style of this boot. It caught my eye in the pictures with the Olive Waxed Flesh leather.
How did you determine your size?
I sent my foot tracings to Bakers and they advised me on a size.
What was the ordering process?
Ordering through Bakers was extremely smooth. Would certainly order through then again.
Use & wear
I’ve worn these all throughout one of the coldest and snowy winters I can remember. They braved countless days below zero and multiple feet of snow throughout the winter. I normally wear them to site visits at work and around town with my wife.
Leather
I don’t think I picked the best leather for this contest. They still look relatively new after 6 months of wear. Looks aside, they have broken in beautifully. The footbed has molded to my feet and the upper leather has creased in all the right places. I am a serious fan of waxed flesh leather.
Fit
I ordered these through Baker’s. I sent in my fit sheet and they came back with 6.5E. My normal boot is 7D, so I was a little concerned, but they are the experts and I trusted them. The fit is PERFECT!! My best fitting boots in my collection and I would say also the most rugged. Really a fan of the MP last.
Craftsmanship
These boots are the best crafted in my collection of various Grant Stone, Truman, Nicks and Whites. They feel pretty overbuilt for what they are, but I can’t say that is a problem for me.
Sole & heel
I like the Commando Sole. It provides great traction and doesn’t seem to firm to stand on all day.
Final thoughts
These are the best boots in my collection. I have dreamed of having a pair of MP Sherman’s for years and I am not in any way dissatisfied with my purchase. The Olive Waxed Flesh leather is amazing. It looks pretty brown in low light, but the green really pops in sunlight. I get a lot of comments/stares when I wear these. I don’t think this will be my final pair of MP’s. I would recommend these to anyone thinking about getting them, just make sure you send your measurements in, they are an oddly sized last.
