Workplace Needs

I really wanted something in cxl and had never worn a lace to toe.

How did you determine your size?

I’ve always used a whites sizing kit. Last 3 pair I just altered it to update fit with aging feet

I’ve worn my boots pretty much anytime I leave the house. I’m a locomotive engineer so basically an equipment operator. I’ve also worn them to work around the house and on vehicles

Patina Process
Care Routine
Break-In
Durability

Cxl isn’t an ideal work boot leather. It scares and dents easy, patina probably needs closer to a years worth if heavy wear to develop. Didn’t need conditioned until about month three. Break in was about 5 days. Double mids still breaking in

I’ve worn whites for 23 years with a steel toe. The 55 is second only to the 690. With the cxl I probably could have gotten away with an E width

Final thoughts

Would Recommend

I probably won’t order cxl for a work boot again. I love how it feels and looks it just damages easy and it have a little more give than what I’m used to from my whites. I think the double mid is also not a good option with the cxl just because of how rigid the bottoms are compared to how supple the uppers have become. I’ve worn boots from other pnw makers and for my money Whites will always be my choice.
