Whenever I wanted to wear denims at the office in Manila, this is my go to boots. I have also used these boots when I am travel to the field as I can rely on this from walking in villages and farming communities to attending meetings in government offices.
The patina process is really slow, the best I got were folds and there is no color change. I have maintained this with just brushing and still have that waxy shine. The break in is long but I am confident about the durability of this pair.
The toe box is comfortable but its too roomy for my toes, with a rounded toe cap, this can look really big on me, volume can feel too much. The half sole is also added to the beefy construction of this pair. If I want another pair of this service boots—i want a last that somehow wraps around my feet.
The construction is solid and this is durable.
Too much volume, I want to love this half sole but this can feel too heavy. Perhaps if the upper leather is not that heavy and the last wraps around the foot—the half sole might work for me. I will wear this more and hopefully the leathers will soften including the leather midsole.
This is my first pair from Willies Leathers, I love the CXL leather, the last and fitting not so much, too roomy for me and the half sole add more bulk and volume which doesnt help in comfort. For the price I paid, this is still great value.
