Rider Boot Co.

Ron Rider founded Rider Boot Co. after working in the shoe department at Franco's Fine Clothier in Richmond, Virginia. He gained early experience in the shoe business through family involvement and retail management.

Rider Boot Co. began after Ron Rider visited the MICAM trade show in Italy and contacted Cortina Martegani, an Italian manufacturer. This partnership resulted in a range of men's boots that combine American and European design elements.

Rider Boot Co. manufactures its boots with Calzaturificio Cortina in Northern Italy. Production takes place in small batches.

Rider Boot Co. uses construction methods including Blake rapid stitch and Goodyear welting. Some models use Blake rapid construction, which allows flexible, low-profile outsoles.

Materials include leather sourced from American, Italian, and French tanneries. The company often uses Genuine Shell Cordovan. Weather-resistant features such as Tirolese welts and rubber soles are present on some models.

Rider Boot Co. produces boots in several classic styles. These include the three-eyelet chukka, cap toe and wingtip boots in mid and tall shaft versions, and the Dundalk model built on a European last. Some models, such as the Chelsea boot, use oil-tanned leather and Goodyear welt construction.
