I’m an electrician by trade that has moved into the BD/sales side of the business. So these boots have been exposed to a multitude of climates and events in my last 6months.
From asshole deep snow walking a job in to taking a pair of boots to Wesco in Oregon to get rebuilt while on a work trip.
They were on my feet when I came to TX from Indiana for a job interview in Dec and I just took their last pictures in the back yard of my apartment in Texas and yes they were on my feet when I moved down here in a couple of suitcases
These boots have been conversation starters, so much so that I started a new hashtag on LinkedIn

Convenience came with Affordability
Meermin Chelsea Boot in Whiskey Heritage Shell CordovanBy Ageless • April 6, 2025"This year, I stepped out of my comfort zone and picked up a pair of shearling Chelsea boots from Meermin. Seriously. I used to wear sneakers and now it’s mostly service boots. They fit perfectly and were adaptable to custom orthotics once the extreme cold subsided. As Chelsea boots made of shell cordovan, they handled jobsites extremely well. I used them for various tasks, including cutting concrete, installing drains, painting, sanding walls, sanding my car, hammering, installing soffit lights, installing receptacles and lights, walking my dogs, shoveling snow, and more.
I did my best to coat these boots in Sno-Seal right before the first snowfall, and I think they held up rather well. Salt stains are inevitable, and I have come to embrace them. Initially, they look very ugly, but they blend over time. The Meermin shell cordovan was quite rough once the factory finish came off. After cleaning it with saddle soap, there is a nice subtle shine to the leather. It still has plenty of structure to it; if you squeeze it from the sides, it springs back to shape like rubber.
I will definitely keep on wearing these boots until the next Thunderdome. They’re simply too convenient to put on and run out the door...."Read the full review

Grant Stone Garrisons Elevated by Unsung Magic
Grant Stone Garrison Boot in C.F. Stead Natural Waxy Commander SuedeBy ccasenhiser • April 6, 2025"These were my daily commuters (2-5 mile average/day) and have seen snow, sleet, rain, humid climates, beaches, mountains, light jogs running late to work, multiple continents, countless stairs, three weddings, crouching in wine cellars and numerous cat thwacks. They’ve truly been through it all.
In month three I decided to consult the assistance of Unsung repair house to make two minor tweaks that catalyzed development in the leather and dramatically increased the joy felt when wearing this pair. GS tongues are known to slip, and while I tried to ignore the minor inconvenience, I started developing blisters on my ankles where the facings would rub when the tongues slipped to the inner part of my foot, and I knew I needed to make an adjustment to get through the rest of the dome.
So, since I was already sending in this pair for a partial gusset, I also decided to have the toe structure removed. Over the years in the Stitchdown discord, I have seen many folks in the Grant Stone channel muse about doing this. So, I figured I could serve as good of a guinea pig as any and went through with the removal.
Upon doing so, these Garrisons really began to take on slipper mode. The Waxy Commander leather molded to my feet over the coming months, and the boots took on a sleeker, albeit less dressy, profile with the flattening and rolling of the toe box. I personally love the results and feel that the incredibly skilled surgery (removal and relast to original soles) performed by Unsung took these boots from good to great.
All this to say, I do not want to my personal tweaks to take away from the incredible work done by Grant Stone. The Waxy Commander/Ridgeway combo of these Garrisons was the first model that finally convinced me to pull the trigger, though these on the new Dr. Soles would also be amazing. The Leo last is super comfortable, QC impeccable, and the boots versatile, durable, and enjoyable enough to make everyday wear a non-issue no matter the weather. I love(d) wearing this pair and can’t wait to see how they continue to develop...."Read the full review

They went on several hikes, went to glass blowing classes, went to a Ray LaMontagne/ Gregory Alan Isakov concert, they hung out with global superstars, they were worn clearing snow, worn to the office, worn in my woodshop, heck even worn during naps. These boots have seen a lot of terrain from the woods to the city streets, from snow to warm sunny days, from dirt to sawdust, and everything in-between.
