SKOOB

SKOOB developed from BOOKS Co. Ltd., a shoe manufacturer established in 2011 by Koji Sasano and his business partner. The company originally focused on original equipment manufacturing and produced footwear for other brands. In 2017, the founders introduced the SKOOB brand, with its name formed by reversing the word "BOOKS."

SKOOB makes all footwear at a factory in Asakusa, Tokyo. The production process covers last design, pattern development, and shoe construction by a small team.

SKOOB footwear uses materials such as horsebutt leather, which is sourced from Italy. The shoes often feature Goodyear welted construction. This process involves stitching a leather welt to both the upper and the sole.

SKOOB produces boots and shoes based on mid-20th century workwear and military footwear design. Product releases have included the M-43 Service Shoe, which is based on military shoes from the 1940s and uses materials including brown Italian horsebutt leather. Other releases include the Wander Engineer Boot, made with horsebutt leather and styled after historic work boots, and Old Kangaroo's Line, a collection inspired by early 20th-century American shoe designs. SKOOB products are distributed through select stores in Japan, Europe, and Asia.
