Warren Boot

The Warren Boot utilizes Wesco's MP95 (Military Police) last, which features a D width and runs slightly large compared to standard sizing. The company recommends sizing down one half size from a properly measured Brannock size or standard US sneaker size. For individuals with wider feet, the recommendation is to go true to size rather than sizing down.

The MP95 last features an almond toe shape that creates a slightly less round, more militant silhouette compared to traditional round-toe work boots. This design characteristic helps position the Warren Boot as a bridge between casual and dressy footwear options.

Like all Wesco boots, the Warren Boot incorporates a spring steel shank for arch support, with double layers of leather over the foot and heel. The boot uses leather insoles and midsoles rather than cork filling, following traditional Pacific Northwest bootmaking practices. Customers can request a leather shank instead of steel shank along with a half slip for different comfort preferences.

Each boot includes a removable leather footbed that can be taken out to provide additional volume or to accommodate custom insoles. This feature allows for personalized fit adjustments while maintaining the boot's structural integrity.

Wesco employs stitchdown construction for the Warren Boot, a method where the vamp leather is folded in an L-shape on top of the midsole and then stitched down through both the midsole and outsole. This construction technique, which Wesco adopted fully in the 1980s after transitioning from nailed construction, provides durability and allows for complete resoling when necessary.

The stitchdown method typically uses two rows of outsole stitching, though single-row stitching can be requested. This construction approach contributes to the boot's rebuildable nature, with every pair designed to be fully reconstructable throughout its lifespan.

Wesco uses a "directional" cutting approach for all leather components, meaning each piece for each boot is cut from the optimal part of the hide for that specific component, rather than attempting to maximize the number of parts per hide. This approach prioritizes quality over efficiency and contributes to the consistent performance of the finished product.

The leather used in Warren Boot construction is top-quality, full-grain leather sourced according to the customer's specifications through the custom builder system. Various leather options are available, including roughout finishes and premium smooth leathers suitable for both casual and dressier applications.
