The leather's top grain is embossed with a deer print pattern, then tumbled in large drums to accentuate the embossed texture. The jack glazing process brings oils to the surface, creating a glossy finish while preserving the natural grain characteristics. The back side receives a refinishing treatment with gum paste in medium brown, providing a waxy and smooth texture that complements the face finish.

Medium Brown Milled Traditional Harness is available in weights of 3.5 to 4 ounce (1.4 to 1.6 millimeters) and 5.5 to 6 ounce (2.2 to 2.4 millimeters), with a semi-soft firmness rating. Full sides average 24 square feet, while backs typically measure 18 to 20 square feet. The leather can also be split to lower weights ranging from 2 to 3 ounce up to 13 to 15 ounce for various applications.
