The back side is refinished in medium brown and gum pasted, providing a waxy, smooth texture that complements the glossy front finish.

Medium Brown Traditional Harness undergoes the same vegetable tanning process as other colors in the Traditional Harness line. The leather is hot stuffed with waxes, oils, and tallows to bring out the inherent beauty of the hide. Through jack glazing, oils are brought to the surface to create the characteristic glossy finish that preserves the leather's natural grain.

The medium brown color is achieved through the vegetable tanning and dyeing process before the aniline finish is applied. The back side receives special attention with refinishing in medium brown color and gum pasting, which creates a waxy, smooth texture distinct from many other leather types. Heavier weights extend up to 9/11oz (3.6/4.4mm), with the full Traditional Harness range spanning from 2-3 oz to 13-15 oz.

The leather is offered in various cut forms including full sides, backs, and pre-cut panels. Full sides average 24-27 square feet, while backs average 18-20 square feet. Individual sides can average around 25 square feet depending on the source hide. Panels are available in standardized sizes ranging from 0.5 square feet (6.5" x 11") to 2.0 square feet (26" x 11").

Grade options include Standard, Utility (Grade B), and Special grades, with Grade #1 and #2 designations indicating the least imperfections.
