The Moc Toe Derby uses Revesco Sego leather sourced from Maryam tannery in Italy. This leather is a reverse horsehide that undergoes treatment with alum, which flattens the natural grain structure and produces a smooth feel. The finish incorporates oils and talc, creating a roughout texture distinct from standard reverse leather. Some pairs exhibit portions of shell cordovan visible in the vamps, appearing as discoloration in the leather.
The shoe follows a standard derby pattern with open lacing, where the eyelet tabs are sewn on top of the vamp. The moccasin toe construction features characteristic U-shaped stitching across the toe box. The company has produced at least two documented versions of this model, with the second iteration representing design refinements based on experience from the first pair.
