Aurora Shoe Co. was founded in 1991 by Mary Jane Dann in Ithaca, New York. The company relocated to King Ferry, New York, in 1997 to expand its operations. In 2009, Mary Jane Dann sold Aurora Shoe Co. to David Binns, a longtime customer.
Manufacturing
Aurora Shoe Co. operates from a 5,000-square-foot facility in King Ferry, New York. The company employs artisans who construct each pair of shoes by hand. In 2019, the company expanded the facility by an additional 5,000 square feet in response to increased demand.
Construction and materials
