Ordering process

Beck provides a free sizing kit to all custom boot customers to ensure proper fit. The sizing kit includes impression foam for creating foot impressions, tape measures for foot and ankle measurements, color samples for leather and thread selection, and pre-paid return shipping materials. Customers step into the impression foam and use the enclosed tape measures to record measurements at specified points on their feet and ankles. Upon receiving the completed sizing kit, Beck confirms the customer's correct size from their range of over 100 available sizes.

The production timeline for custom boots ranges from two to four months from order placement to completion. Custom orders require a $200 deposit, with base pricing starting at $700 plus applicable taxes and shipping charges.

Leather selections

Beck offers multiple leather choices for boot construction. Vamp options include anvil steer, pigskin, calfskin, horsehide, ostrich, elephant, and alligator, with several color variations available in each material. Exotic leathers carry additional charges beyond the base price. All leathers are heavy weight American tanned materials selected for durability and long-term wear.

Design specifications

Boot heights can be customized from 10 to 20 inches, with standard options at six or eight inches. Beck provides seven toe shape choices including French, round, forties, and Munson styles. Customers select from four heel configurations in either block or tapered designs, with heights ranging from 1 3/8 inches for roper or block styles to 2 inches for underslung styles.

Sole options include Beck Tec, Vibram, or leather construction. Upper colors are available in wine, blue, red, forest, and purple. Decorative elements include nine stitch pattern variations with numerous thread color combinations, four top edge scallop designs, and four different pull strap types.

The construction incorporates heavy weight American tanned leather throughout, with methods designed for extended use in working conditions. Each pair receives individual attention from Beck's small craftsman team, with co-owner and lead craftsman Carlos Quiroz overseeing production quality.
