The boots offer optional cap toe configurations and are hand-lasted by Colombian artisans.
The Tukano is available in two versions, with the current V2 models priced at $517 and featuring 11 color and leather variations including oiled latigo, waxed flesh, and chromexcel options. The boots are hand-lasted and handcrafted by Colombian artisans with an estimated lead time of nine months minimum due to the handmade production process.
Construction
The Tukano features stitchdown double-row construction, which joins the sole and upper by sewing them with two parallel rows of stitching. This construction method provides extra strength and allows for resoling. The stitchdown technique is considered more difficult to manufacture than machine-driven Blake stitch or Goodyear welt methods, as it requires greater manual skill from craftsmen. According to manufacturer specifications, the construction is more durable and water resistant than traditional Goodyear welt methods.
Earlier Tukano models utilized Blake stitch construction, but both 1.0 and 2.0 versions now feature stitchdown construction exclusively. The boots include a cork filler layer positioned between the insole and midsole for moisture resistance and comfort adaptation, plus a steel shank for structural support. The manufacturer notes there is a break-in period with the stitchdown construction.
Materials and components
Upper leather
The Tukano boots utilize multiple leather options for the upper construction. Standard models feature hand-lasted uppers made from oiled latigo leather sourced from Wickett and Craig tannery in five to six ounce weights. Alternative material options include harness leather from Wickett and Craig for Natural variants, waxed flesh leather by Horween, and chromexcel by Horween for specific colorways. The Rame variant employs waterproof Italian waxed suede with short nap construction.
Lining and interior
Interior construction incorporates pure aniline Italian calf leather lining, with some specifications noting a distinctive orange dye application. The gusseted tongue is constructed from rough-out suede Colombian leather. Both the insole and midsole utilize Colombian vegetable-tanned leather throughout the boot.
Sole options
Available outsole configurations include Itshide Studded, Itshide Commando, leather sole, Half sole Mini Lug, and Half sole Tygum 705 options. These sole choices allow buyers to select traction and durability characteristics suited to their intended use applications.

The Tukano V2 collection comprises 11 distinct models across multiple leather types and colorways. Available color options include Waxed Flesh Nut Core, Black Teacore, Chestnut, Natural, Black, Tan, Waxed Flesh Cinnamon, Olive, Burgundy, Cinnamon, and Navy. The variety of leather finishes and color selections provides options ranging from natural undyed leather to waxed flesh and teacore treatments.
Sizing and fit
The Tukano boots use European sizing. The manufacturer provides sizing consultation through their Instagram channel to assist with proper fit determination.
