Canada West handcrafts the Romeo using Goodyear welt construction at their Winnipeg factory, continuing methods established when William Moorby revived the Canada West name in 1978. The company, now led by third-generation shoemaker Graham Moorby, produces the Romeo as part of their broader collection of work boots, western boots, and slip-on styles.

The Romeo features a Chelsea boot construction with elastic side gussets that allow the boot to be slipped on without laces. Dual pull tabs positioned at the heel and tongue facilitate donning and removal. The boot stands at ankle height with a 6-inch quarter measurement and incorporates tonal stitching throughout the design.

The round toe design comes in different configurations for men's and women's models. Men's versions feature a 9367-toe in 3E width, while women's models use a 236X toe in C width. Women's versions have unlined 6-inch quarters, distinguishing them from the men's construction.

Each boot includes a removable cushioned footbed that provides comfort while allowing wearers to substitute custom orthotics or insoles as needed.

Canada West builds the Romeo using Goodyear welt construction, a method the company describes as not "the easiest way to make a boot or shoe, but we still believe it is the best way." The construction process involves sewing the upper and welt to the insole, then sewing the sole to the welt, creating multiple stitched attachment points rather than relying on adhesives.

All Romeo production takes place at Canada West's factory in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where the company has manufactured footwear since 1978. The facility employs 65 staff members who handcraft boots using traditional shoemaking methods inherited across three generations of the Moorby family.

The Romeo is available in multiple leather options including Horschel Cognac, Black Loggertan, Crazy Horse, Bulldog Coldbrew, Pecan Tumbled, and Mad Oil Dark Farmer. Canada West sources premium leathers for the Romeo line, maintaining consistency with their approach across other product categories.

The boot uses Vibram outsoles in several configurations depending on the specific model. Options include the Vibram 430, which provides grip and cushioning for daily wear; the Vibram Christie, offering lightweight comfort and traction; the Vibram 132; and the Vibram Longhaul. Women's models feature the Vibram 269 outsole.

Canada West Romeo boots fit large compared to standard shoe sizing. The manufacturer and retailers recommend sizing down one full size from a wearer's normal shoe size to achieve proper fit.
