The 2817 represents Canada West's approach to combining traditional Canadian boot manufacturing methods with practical design elements for everyday wear. Each pair is handcrafted at the company's Winnipeg facility using construction techniques that allow for resoling and long-term use.

The 2817 features a 6-inch unlined quarter with nine brass eyelets in a lace-up configuration. The upper is constructed from Pecan Tumbled leather. The boot uses a 471-toe last with a round toe profile and 2E width. The Vibram 430 outsole provides traction for varied conditions.

The boot is available in sizes 6 through 13, with generous fit characteristics that may require sizing adjustments compared to standard measurements.

The 2817 uses Goodyear welt construction, which provides water resistance and allows the boot to be resoled. The interior features full leather lining and leather cushion insoles.

All construction takes place at Canada West's Winnipeg factory. The company was founded in 1978 by William (Bill) Moorby, and has remained a family-owned business through three generations. The factory, located at 1250 Fife Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba, produces approximately 200 pairs of boots per day with about 65 employees.

The 471 last is one of six lace-up boot models available in the EE width from the Moorby line. The boots fit generously, with sizing that runs large compared to standard Brannock measurements.
