C.F. Stead Tan Repello Calf Suede

Tan Repello combines the natural tan coloration with Repello's water-resistant properties. The leather features Scotch Guard treatment applied during the tannage process, providing increased resistance to staining throughout the product's life.

Repello Calf Suede in tan features average skin sizes of 12-14 square feet, though some distributors offer skins in the 8-12 square foot range. The thickness ranges from 1.2-2.0mm, with common specifications of 1.6-1.8mm and 3.5-4.5 oz (1.4-1.8mm). The material is characterized as high quality, fine-napped calf suede, tanned to provide a full, generous handle and rich appearance.

The leather utilizes chrome tannage and is typically cut as double butt sections. The surface exhibits a matte finish with a soft handle and velour suede nap characteristic of fine calf suede.

The tan color, like all Repello Calf Suede colors, is fully treated with Scotch Guard in the tannage process. This treatment achieves a high degree of resistance to staining, with the proofing remaining effective throughout the life of the footwear. The calfskin is processed specifically to increase water resistance while maintaining the softness and richness characteristic of Repello suede.

Tan Repello suede is suitable for men's dress and casual footwear, as well as accessories and bespoke footwear applications. The material is appropriate for bag manufacturing and other leather goods beyond footwear.

Dr. Martens incorporates tan Repello in their 101 Boot model, a 6-eye ankle boot with handcrafted construction. The boot is available in standard US sizes and represents one application of tan Repello in heritage footwear.
