About

Cobbler Union is a footwear brand based in Atlanta, Georgia. The company was established in 2014. Cobbler Union focuses on men's shoes that are handmade using traditional techniques in small workshops.

History

Cobbler Union was founded by Daniel Porcelli in 2014. Before starting the company, Porcelli worked as the CEO of a bespoke shoemaking studio in Barcelona. The company launched its first shoe collection during the summer of 2014 and began by taking pre-orders from customers. As of 2023, Cobbler Union has reported sales in more than 90 countries.

Manufacturing

Cobbler Union shoes are produced in Spain. Production occurs in small, family-owned factories. Each shoe undergoes over 200 separate steps before completion. About 25 artisans work on each pair during the process. The company keeps a permanent team at its main factory to supervise manufacturing.

Construction and materials

Cobbler Union uses Goodyear welt construction in its shoes. The uppers are made from full-grain calf leather, which comes from tanneries such as Du Puy and Charles Stead. Some shoe models use museum calf leather that features uneven color. Most soles are made of leather, though some designs also use rubber elements.

Products

Cobbler Union produces men's shoes in traditional styles. These include oxfords, derbies, monk straps, loafers, and boots. The brand's accessory offerings include belts, socks, and shoe care products.
