Outdoor Slipper

The Outdoor Slipper employs a modified hand-sewn Goodyear construction method that allows for resoling. Each pair is built from a single piece of molded leather, with the upper joined to a sturdy leather outsole using hand-sewn skin stitch. The construction process can take up to 10 days per slipper, with every step completed by hand without the use of chemicals in production.

The design is based on lasts created in 2005 in collaboration with 96-year-old Tuscan master last-maker Verdichio Padrone. Each completed pair is signed and dated by the master craftsmen who built it, documenting the individual artisan responsible for the work.

The slipper uses 100% vegetable tanned semi-cordovan leather throughout its construction. FEIT sources Italian vegetable tanned leather for their Handsewn Collection, with the leather remaining in a neutral state closer to its natural condition to retain porous breathable qualities. The natural leather insoles shape to the wearer's foot over time, creating a personalized fit.

The outsole features a non-slip Vibram sole with rubber injections for traction. A logo stamp appears at the tonal leather footbed. The raw, unlined edges and exposed stitching recall the human craftsmanship behind each pair, with no attempt to conceal the construction methods.

The Outdoor Slipper features a round toe design with a seamless one-piece upper construction. The hand-stitching at the heel joins the molded leather pieces. The minimalist design emphasizes the simplicity of natural materials, with the vegetable tanned leather designed to age gracefully and develop a patina as each individual wearer experiences them.

The slipper fits true to size and is available only in full sizes. Customers between sizes should size up. For women's sizing, the style is available in EU sizes 37-41. The fit compares true to size with Redwing, FEIT boots, and Oak Street footwear. The slipper runs approximately 1.0 size larger than Nike or New Balance athletic shoes and approximately 1.5 sizes larger than Brannock measurements.

FEIT recommends leaving vegetable tanned leather shoes untreated to allow for natural patina development. The leather is designed to age and change character through use rather than requiring conditioning or protective treatments.

For worn outsoles, FEIT offers a Vibram full sole replacement service for $180. This repair service is applicable for hand-sewn Goodyear collection styles produced after 2020. Repair wait times typically range from six to eight weeks.
