The Lace-To-Toe is a 10-inch work boot model manufactured by Frank's Boots since 2016. The boot features a lace-to-toe pattern extending eyelets the full height of the upper, designed for logging, carpentry, construction, mechanics, wildland firefighting, and lineman work. The construction provides enhanced ankle support and accommodates heavy-duty socks through the adjustable lacing system.
Frank's Boots builds the Lace-To-Toe with full rebuildable and resoleable construction using 7.5 to 8 ounces of full-grain water-resistant leather. The boot is available as a standalone model and as a lacing option on other styles including the Type 1 Commander.
The Lace-To-Toe stands 10 inches tall and uses the lace-to-toe pattern that extends brass hooks and eyes the full height of the boot rather than stopping partway up the shaft. This design allows for a tighter fit around the ankle and accommodates varying sock thicknesses. The pattern provides increased ankle support compared to traditional partial-lacing designs.
The boot is built on Frank's 1977 last with a Shape 4 toe. A logger heel provides stability on uneven terrain and slopes. The high heel and arch support design balances body weight for extended wear periods.
The construction features full rebuildable and resoleable methods, allowing the boot to be repaired and maintained over time. Brass hardware including hooks and eyes provides durability in demanding work environments.
Frank's constructs the Lace-To-Toe using 7.5 to 8 ounces of full-grain water-resistant leather. The standard configuration pairs a smooth leather upper with a roughout leather lower section. Alternative configurations include full smooth leather throughout, available on models like the Type 1 Commander.
The boot incorporates a pull loop at the rear for easier donning.
The sole uses either a Vibram Lug or Vibram 100 Lug outsole with one-inch thickness, providing protection from heat and rough terrain. The thick sole construction suits firefighting and industrial applications where heat resistance is required.
The boot weighs approximately seven pounds in standard configuration.
The Lace-To-Toe is available in men's sizes six through 13 with width options including B (Narrow), D (Medium), E (Wide), EE (Wide), and F (Extra Wide). The lace-to-toe pattern accommodates heavy-duty socks and allows fit adjustment throughout the boot's height.
Frank's Boots manufactures the Lace-To-Toe on a made-to-order basis with lead times of four to six months. The standalone Lace-To-Toe model has a regular price of $645 with periodic sales at $545. The Type 1 Commander with lace-to-toe pattern is priced at $595.
Authorized retailers including Baker's Boots and Clothing carry Frank's Boots models with the lace-to-toe option. The boot is available for order directly through Frank's Boots and select retail partners.
