Break-In

The black waxed flesh was stiff to start with. Especially around the ankle, once they started to loosen up they got real flexible and comfortable real fast. Break in for me is always just to wear them and brush them when they get dirty. These boots got washed twice when they got splashed with kerosene but just hosed off or brushed in between. Typical of the waxed flesh awesome color showing through at flex points and where the finish was scuffed. I think it was more of a qc issue from franks and less of a leather issue but I had the eyelets at the ankle pull entirely out on one boot and just about pull out on the other. Swapped with some larger eyelets and they're good as new. When I received them I did notice the backing of the eyelet looked misaligned when they were placed.

Satisfied with the Fit

Left boot is a 9.5ee and right is a 9.5f. After being broken in theyre both pretty roomy but the left is still pinching my toes a little. Mismatched sizing was on franks suggestion, I sent in a fit sheet and it is entirely possible a fudged the number. Length and arch are spot on. Added some foam insoles about 4 months in for some cushion

Clicking

Everything about the boots are damn near perfect except a few loose threads on the linesman patches, snipped those, no big deal. My only complaint was the issue with the last set of eyelets at the ankles. Both appeared to be misaligned when the machine punched/placed them and I ended up having to replace them. Not entirely awful considering I have all the parts and equipment to do it myself anyway. Upon arrival all the pieces were trimmed excellently and there wasn't any visible defects in the finish anywhere.

Traction

These are pretty hard soles, im surprised by the amount of wear on them and they've ended up chipping out at the cord and a lot of the corners. Decent traction considering how low profile they are.

Final thoughts

Would Recommend

I love these boots, franks hit the mark on my order perfectly.
