FRYE constructs the Jasper Jodhpur from Italian vegetable-tanned leather selected for its high shine finish and ability to develop patina over time. FRYE equips the boot with a Luxe Fusion PORON footbed featuring perforated details designed to improve breathability during wear.

FRYE was founded in 1863 by John Addison Frye, who established the company with a $150 partnership contribution and bought out his partner within one year. The company initially produced modestly priced women's and children's shoes before manufacturing its first boot in 1888. In the late 1880s, FRYE became the first Marlboro manufacturer to switch from steam power to electricity, demonstrating early adoption of industrial technology.

During the early 20th century, FRYE expanded its focus on boot production. The company designed its signature harness boot in 1938, drawing inspiration from Civil War-era cavalry boots. FRYE adopted Goodyear welt construction for its premium boot lines during the early 20th century. By 1930, two-thirds of FRYE's output consisted of Goodyear welted footwear. By 1936, three-fourths of production utilized this construction method. The Goodyear welt construction method allows boots to be repeatedly resoled, extending their durability for many years of use.

The jodhpur boot style originated in India during the 1920s, first worn by British polo riders who required specialized footwear for equestrian activities. The style gained commercial distribution when Saks Fifth Avenue began selling jodhpur boots as early as 1927, introducing the design to American consumers. While rooted in equestrian endeavors, the jodhpur boot evolved from its functional riding boot origins into a modern dress boot style adopted by heritage footwear manufacturers including FRYE.
