The leather is surprisingly tough, because I didn’t intentionally beat them up and just wore them day to I could use another 6 months of Dome! The switch to leather laces made an immediate difference with the stiffness of the boot and leather. Now they are very comfortable and will be presentable for the foreseeable future.
