The roomy toe box makes it easier for my wider feet to fit in the 12D whereas an 11/11.5EE gave width but not enough length.

These are my favorite (and only) pair of red wings! Worn for almost 3 years doing anything from landscaping, walking in cities all over the US, hiking, and plain old desk work. Got them resoled July 2025 by Steve at Bedo’s Leatherworks to revitalize them, making them more suitable for supporting my weight (260lbs), and upgrading to an overall better look, in my opinion. They’re pretty worn already, but I think an additional 6 months of wear will make its mark on these beauties.
