Monkey

The Monkey employs Goodyear welt construction, a method that attaches the upper to the sole using a stitched leather strip called a welt. This construction technique, which has its origins in hand-welting methods from circa 1500, was mechanized in 1875. The welt creates a cavity that is filled with cork material, which cushions the stride and molds to the wearer's feet over time. This construction provides water resistance and allows the boots to be resoled multiple times.

The heel consists of a leather base with a half-inch Airborne rubber heel. The boots feature leather lining throughout the interior. Hardware includes four antique brass eyelets and three antique brass hooks. A two-tone variant features a black leather foot section and dark brown leather upper with 10 antique brass eyelets.

The Monkey is available in Horween CHRXL (Chromexcel) leather in four colorways: Black, Dark Cherry, Vintage Brown, and Olive Green. An alternative variant uses Kangaroo Cognac leather with an all-nailed sole construction. Julian Boots sources leathers and raw materials from American suppliers.

Four sole configurations are available for the Monkey. The standard offering features a leather sole. Three upgraded options include: Thin Rubber Sole, Nailed Sole, and Airborne 1/2 sole. These sole variations affect both the boot's price point and performance characteristics.

The base Monkey with a leather sole starts at $875.00 USD. Upgraded sole configurations range from $875 to $900 USD depending on the selected option. The boot is offered in sizes six through 13, with 52 distinct configurations available across all size and sole variations.

Production requires three to five weeks for completion, followed by an additional three to five business days for delivery. As of the product's current availability status, items are backordered with separate shipment within 10 to 15 days.
