The SC Plain Toe is a service boot model manufactured by Junkard Company, an Indonesian footwear maker based in Bandung. Inspired by standard military boots widely used during World War II, the SC Plain Toe represents the company's interpretation of service footwear from that era and has been the brand's best-selling boot since its introduction.[1]
The boot features a prominent heel and pointy last design using Junkard's SC last. As with all Junkard footwear, the SC Plain Toe is made-to-order with extensive customization options available across lasts, leathers, soles, and construction details.
The SC Plain Toe utilizes Goodyear-handwelted construction with a 270 degree welt type, featuring a single layer midsole and natural edge trim finished in mid brown.[1] The standard version includes a Dr. Sole Supergrip outsole and structured toe box.[1] Junkard employs traditional Goodyear construction made by hand, with all welt stitching hand-stitched by experienced craftspeople, making every shoe built with this construction resoleable.[1]
The boot's design is characterized by its rugged appearance, achieved through the SC last which Junkard notes as their most favored for service boot styles.[1] The construction features antique brass eyelets and uses the ALD last in the standard full grain black version.[1]
The standard SC Plain Toe features full grain black leather for the upper with lambskin leather lining.[1] Beyond the base configuration, Junkard offers the model in various premium leather options including shell cordovan and Horween Chromexcel.[1]
The SC Plain Toe in full grain black leather is priced at USD $310 and is listed as in stock on the official Junkard Company website (Product ID: 3443).[1]
Standard pricing for Junkard footwear begins at €210 as of May 2020.[2] The company operates both a ready-to-wear shop and make-to-order program through their website at junkardcompany.com.[2]
