KIND

KIND began operations in 2014, focusing its production on boots made with the KMW last in widths between D and E. The brand has produced boots for companies including Red Wing, Wesco, Thorogood, and Danner.

KIND produces its boots to order, requiring a processing time between two and five working weeks. The company states that it selects organic materials to reduce waste and impact on the environment. For every item sold, KIND participates in a tree-planting program with One Tree Planted and donates one percent of its sales to Life Vest Inside.

KIND uses Italian vegetable-tanned leather for the uppers of its boots. The boots are constructed with hand-welted techniques and include Vibram 705 Tygum outsoles, natural vegetable-tanned leather insoles, nickel buckles, cork footbeds, COATS BRIO thread, natural leather midsoles, double-stitched seams, functional straps, and hand-stitched shaft seams.

KIND offers boots based on vintage 1930s designs, made with Italian vegetable-tanned leather. The Tender Moctoe Boot is made in Horween horsehide teacore leather and Horween predator leather. The Accord Lace-to-Toe Monkey Boot is crafted from vegetable-tanned leather. KIND also produces the Nature Guide Brogue Captoe Service Boot in both standard and waxed flesh versions, and the Forest Ranger Logger Boot uses Horween leather. KIND includes organic cotton jacquard socks dyed with natural indigo in its product line.
