First time using my new Manfrotto Element II MII tripod. One boot photography takeaway from this month's shoot: Find the right balance between focus point and f-stop. Previously, I focused on the welt with too low of an f-stop, and often blurred the upper stitches behind them. At the same time, too high of an f-stop brings too much focus on the background. I had better results today by focusing on the upper stitches first and taking a shot for each f-stop up to 5.6. I picked the photos where I was happiest with the level of focus of the background and welt. The top angle is the most difficult, since the depth between the facing stitches and the welt is the greatest. Let me know your thoughts or if you have advice on how I can improve.
